1st Annual Walk n' Wag

SPONSOR ME

The Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) of Alberta is proud to host our first annual dog walk in support of the "Pad for Paws" campaign, raising money for a permanent facility. This event will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Calgary's River Park.

This is your opportunity to help the many stray and unwanted dogs and cats from rural areas and First Nations communities. ARF rescues these animals and places them in loving, permanent homes while providing programs to reduce pet overpopulation.

postheadericon Boo Boo – Adopted

A close call for this girl. She almost … almost … was going to stay at my house. BUT, a better offer came along. Boo Boo has gone to a home with another dog to torment err love and a mom who will spend a lot of time with her. Days will be filled with dog walks and nights of cuddling. I am so happy for both Boo Boo and her new family.

Again, yes, a bit sad, but in a good way. Its only heartbreaking for a bit, until my son reminds me why it is good that the dogs are adopted!

postheadericon Wheatie – Adopted

Well, this post is a wee bit late. Wheatie went to his forever home a week ago. I think that his name is going to be changed – perhaps to Dexter or something like that. I am really happy with the match!

postheadericon Kodiak & Paddington – Adopted

It has been a very big weekend here at Chez Morgan. Kodiak and Paddington went on successful home visits while Boo-Boo and I were at PetSmart (more on that in another post!) I am happy to announce that they have found forever homes with two wonderful families who will shower them with love and probably spoil them rotten. PLUS, last night both dogs came back walking on leashes.

Kodiak

Kodiak was the first to go.

Paddington

Of course Paddington gives me a good picture on his last day with me! He was picked up shortly after Kodiak. I will admit that I was slightly verklempt.  I am really happy for everyone.

postheadericon Baloo – Adopted

Baloo went to her new home today. She has been adopted by a great family who will have a ton of time to play with her and kids to grow up with. It was a wonderful feeling to walk into their home with her today and watch her sniff around, wagging her tail and eventually fall asleep on one of the kids blankets.

Although its hard to say “see you later” to Baloo, its a very rewarding feeling knowing that she is with a wonderful family and her being adopted opens my home up for more puppies.

postheadericon Hazel – Adopted!

Hazel has been adopted. She got the all clear from her surgeon and was able to be adopted by a family who has been waiting patiently for her. When they came to get her, it was like I never existed. It was awesome. Here she is, tuckered out in her new home after a day of playing.

Wishing you all the best Hazel and family.
