1st Annual Walk n' Wag

SPONSOR ME

The Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) of Alberta is proud to host our first annual dog walk in support of the "Pad for Paws" campaign, raising money for a permanent facility. This event will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Calgary's River Park.

This is your opportunity to help the many stray and unwanted dogs and cats from rural areas and First Nations communities. ARF rescues these animals and places them in loving, permanent homes while providing programs to reduce pet overpopulation.

postheadericon Gee think we are related?

I was going through my older posts because I knew I had a post somewhere with a picture (or two) from the previous litter from Monk’s parents.

Who is Kodiak and who is Monk  ….

postheadericon Vet Visit

Today, Monk went to his first vet visit. Of course,  he had his big sister Whitley with him. He got a clean bill of health, the rest of his shots and a goodie bag!

postheadericon Puppy Play Time

With the weather getting hotter here in cow town and stampede upon us, I figured it was time to get the puppies playing. I purchased a pool a few weeks ago and they have just started really using it. Even my big girl Whitley. Chewy LOVES the pool. He loves to run around in circles with his nose in the water.

I'm chillin in the pool ... wanna join me?

I am also working on socializing Monk by getting him out into the “real” world. Today he came to my work and got loved and cuddled by a bunch of different people. He was scared at times but did really well. So when we came home he crashed out …

Visiting tires me out

postheadericon An ARF dog of my Very Own

Well the time has come where I decided I needed an ARF dog of my very own. Meet Monk …

postheadericon The tough life

Dogs have such a tough life. Playing sure seems to take a lot of out of them. Over the last few days the pups have settled in fantastically. They have been getting used to all the different household sounds and learning that Foster Mom can sometimes be a Pez Dispenser, especially when they are being well behaved.

Cameron is the biggest help. He makes sure that the dogs are fed, watered and have lots of play time. For a seven year old I am a pretty lucky mom. He loves the puppies and is always excited to see them go to their new “forever” homes because it means that more puppies are coming to our house, and more puppies lives will be saved.

With me taking the Apprenticeship Program at Dogma I have been able to show Cameron how to interact appropriately with the puppies and he is really good at “training” them. Its pretty cute.

The dogs have a lot of play time. Having more than one is great because they entertain each other. Of course, the puppy piles when its nap time are pretty cute too.
